Hammer It Home: Ask the Right Questions

September 23, 2026

Getting better isn’t just about what happens at training.

It’s about learning to pay attention. To your game. Your habits. Your decisions. Also to what working and what is not.

The best players don’t always have the right answers. But they learn to ask the right questions.

Look Back

What are three things you did well?

What’s one thing you’d do differently?

Look Forward

What will you keep doing?

What will you stop doing?

What will you start doing?

Watch Your Game

Are you creating space?

Are you checking your shoulders?

How are you reacting when possession changes?

You don’t need to fix everything at once. Pick something. Work on it. Pay attention the next time you step on the field.

Next time you get home from training, a tournament, or even school, grab a sheet of paper and take a few minutes to reflect. Ask yourself what went well, what didn’t, and what you’ll do differently next time.

Your game will thank you.
