Earlier this month, Hammers Academy held its inaugural 3v3 Fundraiser Tourney at All American Sports in Overland Park, KS. There were 9 teams that entered into 2 divisions, a younger group in the morning and an older group that competed in afternoon. After a few pool play rounds followed by the knockout rounds, The Comets won the younger division and The Beavers conquered the older division rounding out the afternoon.
3v3 is a great way for players to improve on many facets of their game. It encourages quick thinking and decision making due to a much smaller field, and also helps kids get more comfortable on the ball by allowing more opportunities to get their touches in. Being in a smaller space is also helpful to grasp a deeper knowledge of positions, how they interact with each other, and helping the players foster their on-field communication.
Overall, the day was full of goals, skills, immense concentration and effort, and most importantly, fun. This was the first of many community events for the club and we want to thank all the players, parents, and venue involved. We couldn’t have done this without all of you.
Please stay tuned for more updates on the next community event and more Hammers news! #HammerOn #HamFam
